2nd league – Fürth loses game and lets Tillman go – Sport

SpVgg Greuther Fürth lost 1:2 (1:1) at Karlsruher SC in the second Bundesliga a week after the last-minute win in the Frankenderby against 1. FC Nürnberg. Only lagging behind, Fürth turned up the heat in the final stages on Friday evening and created chances to equalise. However, substitute Lukas Petkov only hit the inside of the post (88th minute). KSC deservedly won with goals from Marvin Wanitzek, who converted a penalty kick after video evidence (37th), and Mikkel Kaufmann (73rd). The Franconians initially led after 21 minutes thanks to an own goal by Tim Breithaupt, shortly afterwards Karlsruhe were outnumbered by a yellow-red card for Stephan Ambrosius. In the evening, Fürth also announced the departure of midfielder Timothy Tillman, who is moving to Los Angeles FC in Major League Soccer. The 24-year-old completed 85 competitive games for Fürth. The move to the USA was possible because transfers are possible longer there in winter than in Germany.
