Fortuna loses in the chase duel – Hansa wins at FCM

Fortuna Düsseldorf loses for the second time in a row due to its serious personnel problems. A newcomer is in top form in the 2nd Bundesliga.
Second division soccer team Fortuna Düsseldorf was unable to take advantage of Hamburger SV’s further away mistake and missed out on a promotion place.
On Sunday, coach Daniel Thioune’s team, which was severely weakened by replacements, lost 0-1 (0-0) at SpVgg Greuther Fürth and suffered their second defeat in a row. Robert Wagner (48th minute) scored the winning goal for Fürth, which now drew level with Fortuna with 21 points. Thioune is currently missing half a dozen regular players who are injured or suspended.
After 13 games, a quintet (Düsseldorf, Fürth, Nuremberg and the promoted teams Elversberg and Wehen Wiesbaden) is three points behind the direct promotion ranks. Second-placed HSV (24) lost 2:4 to new third-placed Holstein Kiel (23) on Saturday.
Wiesbaden continues to advance
SV Wehen Wiesbaden is also on the rise, turning the neighborhood duel against 1. FC Kaiserslautern around and winning 2-1 (0-1). Lauterer’s lead by Marlon Ritter (39′) was countered by Thijmen Goppel (51′) and Ivan Prtajin (65′) with a deflected free kick.
In the bottom of the table, Hansa Rostock got their first win since the end of September with a 2-1 (0-1) win at 1. FC Magdeburg and moved away from the relegation zone again. An own goal from Magdeburg’s Connor Krempicki (86th) finally made Hansa coach Alois Schwartz celebrate again.
Magdeburg was already helped to equalize thanks to a serious goalkeeping error by Dominik Reimann on Dennis Dressel’s long-range shot (46th). Herbert Bockhorn (4th) scored for the hosts. The Magdeburgers, without a win since October 1st, are 14th in the table. are tied on points (13) with Karlsruhe and third-from-last Schalke 04.
