FCK wins traditional duel – damper for Schalke and Hertha

Kaiserslautern beats Nuremberg 3:1. Schalke gave away the win in stoppage time and Hertha was not enough to lead four times. There’s a new second division leader.
Big cheers in Kaiserslautern, Kiel and Magdeburg, disappointment at 1. FC Nuremberg Hertha BSC and FC Schalke 04. Nuremberg lost 1:3 (1:3) at 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the evening, the two Bundesliga relegated teams lose sight of the top positions in the 2nd Bundesliga early on.
In a crazy game, the Berliners conceded their fourth defeat of the season, despite leading four times, with a 4:6 (3:2) at 1. FC Magdeburg. Schalke missed the 1-1 (0-0) win at SV Wehen Wiesbaden with a late goal and is also stuck in the bottom of the table with only four points. The new table leader is temporarily Holstein Kiel, who celebrated their fourth win of the season with a 2-1 (1-1) win over SC Paderborn.

The duel of the traditional clubs decided the Lauterer earned for themselves. Richmond Tachie (19th minute), Tymoteusz Puchacz (26th) and Ragnar Ache (30th) scored the goals for the Red Devils. Lukas Schleimer (37th) scored for Nuremberg, who only ended the game with ten men. FCN goalkeeper Christian Mathenia saw the red card in the 88th minute because of an emergency brake. Because the guests had already used up all the options to change, outfield player Tim Handwerker had to go to Nürnberger Tor for the rest of the season.
Fabian Reese (2nd), Marten Winkler (22nd) and Haris Tabakovic with a brace (43rd/55th) gave Hertha the lead four times. But self-confident Magdeburgers always had the right answer. In front of 26,872 spectators, Silas Gnaka (7th) and Luca Schuler (37th), Jason Ceka (49th), Leon Bell (58th) as well as Mohammed El-Hankouri (68th) and substitute Ahmet Arslan scored the goals in added time for the still undefeated hosts, who are now at least temporarily second with eleven points.
Later damper for Schalke
Schalke also suffered a further setback, who gave up a victory in Wiesbaden in injury time that they had already thought was certain. In a game that was dominated for a long time, Tobias Mohr gave Schalke the lead after the break (54′), Max Reinthaler equalized shortly before the final whistle (90’+5′).
In Kiel, coach Marcel Rapp’s team showed that they can’t be upset by a deficit. After Robert Leipertz (12′) made it 1-0 to Paderborn early on, Tom Rothe (31′) and Steven Skrzybski (61′) turned the game around in favor of Holstein.
