The new Schalke coach Karel Geraerts warns about the opponent at the press conference: “I told the boys from day one this week that we are playing against a strong opponent, they have a great coach. They know what they want and what they don’t want. It will be very difficult, we are starting from scratch, we have great respect for Elversberg.”

However, the follow-up goal and Sickinger’s injury turned the game on its head; suddenly the Knappen were in control and had a real chance of equalizing.
