The sequel to “28 Days Later” will soon be produced. Now the main actors of the end-time horror thriller are known.

“28 Years Later” is taking shape. At the beginning of the year it was announced that a sequel to “28 Days Later” and “28 Weeks Later” was being worked on. It is now clear that Aaron Taylor-Johnson (33), Jodie Comer (31) and Ralph Fiennes (61) will take on the main roles in the horror film. That reports the film portal “Deadline”.

While Comer and Fiennes were already rumored to be cast, the announcement of Taylor-Johnson as the lead actor comes as a surprise. He is hotly tipped to be Daniel Craig’s (56) successor as 007. The latest rumors about the Brit as James Bond have already been denied again.

Plot of “28 Years Later” still unknown

For the third part of “28 Days Later”, the makers of the original film are once again at the helm, with director Danny Boyle (67) and author Alex Garland (53). “28 Years Later” is intended to be the start of a new trilogy – $75 million is available for each part. It is not yet known when exactly the film will be released in cinemas. However, the first part is scheduled to be shot this year.

The plot of the apocalyptic thriller is also still unknown. The original “28 Days Later,” which premiered in 2002, was about a bike courier who wakes up from a coma in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. Cillian Murphy (47) plays the main role. In the second part of 2007, the virus returns – this time Robert Carlyle (63), among others, is fighting against it.
