27 injured, mostly children, in footbridge collapse near Helsinki

The accident caused the victims to fall several meters high. Twenty-seven young people, mostly children, were injured Thursday in Finland in the collapse of a temporary footbridge near Helsinki which caused their fall, announced the rescuers.

“Some 27 young people, most of them minors, were injured to varying degrees” during the fall of this construction footbridge located in Espoo on the outskirts of the capital, the Finnish emergency services said in a press release. The injured are mostly part of a group from a school, said hospital services.
