The contribution service of ARD, ZDF and Deutschlandradio – formerly GEZ – recently presented its balance sheet for 2022, and the figures presented there should be of great interest, especially for the crisis broadcaster RBB. Because the contributions from Berlin and Brandenburg turned out to be significantly larger last year than the economic planning of the broadcaster had taken as a basis. According to the new figures, the broadcaster received a good 26 million euros more in 2022 than forecast. This is not unimportant, because after the “mismanagement” that director Katrin Vernau attested to her predecessor Patricia Schlesinger, RBB has to save rigorously in order to secure liquidity.
