Friday evening, in Lyon, a 25-year-old woman, a trainee police officer within the national police, ended her life with her service weapon, indicated to 20 minutes the SGP-FO union confirming information from Lyon Mag. The young policewoman was assigned at night to the downtown police-rescue service. According to the local media, she committed suicide at her home.
The union specifies that the reasons for its action are not yet known, adding that the “profession is particularly affected by suicide”. The Lyon public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation.
