21-year-old student from Nîmes police school dies after jogging

A student from the National Police School in Nîmes (Gard) died Tuesday afternoon, at Carémeau hospital, where he had been transported after having become unwell, during a sports session carried out as part of its formation.

The young man, aged 21, had collapsed in front of his comrades, in full jogging, a few hours earlier. His instructor, a rescuer, had taken charge of him, performing cardiac massage. He had managed to revive him, but the young man again lost consciousness, and was transported to the hospital by the firefighters dispatched to the site, we learned from the establishment.

At the National Police School in Nîmes, a psychological unit was set up on Tuesday to support the students of its promotion and its supervision.
