2000 euros fine threatened: climate chaos demonstrated against adhesive ban Regional

Munich – He’s stuck on the glue! Climate chaos Wolfgang Metzler (48) demonstrated at Marienplatz against the ban on adhesives that had been imposed on him. He risked a fine of 2000 euros!

Demonstrators from the “Last Generation” demonstrated on Saturday at Marienplatz against the Bavarian ban on adhesives. Among them the Regensburg engineer Metzler, who received a superglue ban from the district administration department (KVR). He is one of seven activists banned by the city from using or carrying superglue or similar adhesives. According to the KVR, this applies to the entire city area.

So that Metzler doesn’t run around town with glue again, the KVR recently increased its fine to 2,000 euros. He doesn’t seem to care at all.

Uhu ton on Marienplatz

Because on Saturday morning he not only stood on Marienplatz with a small tube of superglue, but also demonstratively carried a large owl barrel around with him. This turned out to be empty. Only the owl sign was glued on…

At around 10.30 a.m., the Munich police moved out to accompany a demonstration of the climate stickers that had already been announced. With the action, the demonstrators wanted to protest against the city’s requirement not to carry any adhesives with them. The police found Metzler, a Munich man (60) and a 50-year-old companion on the square.

After a speech by the officials, the climate chaos handed over their adhesives. The woman also carried superglue with her. The police seized the adhesive “to avert danger”. However, the large protest barrel that the men were carrying was empty.

“Both the 48-year-old and the 60-year-old were instructed again about the city’s existing ban on carrying them. Following the police measures, both were released on the spot,” the police write.

The fine runs through the KVR, which now has the power to decide whether Metzler will pay a fine of 2,000 euros, according to a police spokesman.
