From mid-July to early October 2023, the Munich police counted more than 200 burglaries in taxis. The police have now caught the alleged perpetrator and the 22-year-old is in custody. Forensics found his DNA at six crime scenes in the theft series. Stolen goods: around 8,600 euros in cash, cell phones and radios.
The man was initially arrested for another crime. Employees at a hotel on Landwehrstrasse reported a theft. On January 16, police officers recognized the suspect based on his clothing. They also found stolen goods worth around 1,300 euros on the man, which had been stolen from a retirement home the day before.
