20 years of “Love Actually”: This is how Hugh Grant shaped the romantic comedies of the 90s

One of the most popular (and most hated) romantic comedies of the nineties: “Love Actually” with Hugh Grant ecstatic (and horrified) year after year at Christmas time – and not just because of the legendary dance scene in which Grant dances through his house in Downing Street swinging his hips to “Jump” by the Pointer Sisters. In the film, the now 63-year-old slips into the role Role of the British Prime Minister, which is in a simple Girl in love serving him tea. Stars like Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Emma Thompson and Keira Knightley are also part of the episodic film.

“Love Actually” will celebrate its 20th birthday in December 2023. On the occasion of this, we look back at the romantic film highlights of Grant, who established himself as one of the greatest representatives of the RomCom genre around the turn of the millennium.

Not just “Love Actually”: Hugh Grant shone in iconic roles in these romantic comedies.
