A drama took place in downtown Nantes overnight from Saturday to Sunday. Around 3:45 a.m., the Loire-Atlantique firefighters were called for a fire that occurred on the fourth floor of a building on rue de Rieux, in the Olivettes district.

Inside the apartment, a 20-year-old woman was found unconscious. “Despite the attempts at resuscitation, the victim was declared dead by the SMUR doctor present at the scene”, reports the departmental fire and rescue service.

About twenty firefighters intervened on this disaster, which would have been caused by a fire of mattress “located in a room on the floor of a duplex apartment”, specifies the same source. Three other people, slightly injured but not taken to hospital, had to be relocated.
