19-year-old flees from control in a car and hits police officers – Bavaria

A 19-year-old fled from a police checkpoint in his car in Swabia and hit an officer when he was arrested. As the investigators announced on Friday, the young man’s car was noticed on Thursday evening in Affing (Aichach-Friedberg district) because of his unsafe driving style.

When police officers asked the driver to stop, he turned off his headlights and drove away at high speed. After the officers stopped the car after a lengthy pursuit, the 19-year-old and three passengers aged 14, 16 and 19 jumped out of the car and tried to run away.

According to the information, police officers caught up with the four escapees after a short time and overpowered them. The driver defended himself, hit a police officer in the face and slightly injured him. Because investigators assumed the young man had taken drugs, a blood test was ordered.

He is being investigated for, among other things, endangering road traffic and a banned car race.
