The spa-style bathroom
The big trend of the year is to think of the bathroom as an authentic home spa. The storage spaces are very small, and give way to the bathtub or the shower.
The big trend is the egg bath, with organic curves. We love it in a contemporary bathroom, we love it in the Japandi bathroom – one of the trends of the year.
On the shower side, we love the walk-in shower, and preferably in XXL dimensions. The capital element is the wall, which is chosen very lightly, focusing above all on transparency.
For an ever more pronounced spa spirit, we adopt a configuration allowing to combine freestanding bathtub and shower, which is installed behind a wall. Here again, we focus on transparency and lightness.
The high-tech bathroom
Minimalist lines and a slightly futuristic atmosphere: this year, the contemporary bathroom is taking center stage.
In terms of furniture, we focus on an extremely refined design. To stick to trends, choose suspended elements, focusing on asymmetry.
The must-have of the year is the illuminated mirror. Bringing a trendy high tech touch, it also makes it possible to dispense with lighting likely to weigh down the decor, which we like as stripped down as possible.
It was neglected for a long time, to opt for a very wise white model. From now on, the basin is essential as an essential part of the bathroom. And that’s good: it is now available in new generation materials – like Cristal Wood resin by Antonio Lupi, which combines resistance, lightness and hygiene.
The asymmetrical rug is one of the trends of the year. We adopt it without hesitation in the bathroom, where it allows to take care of the esthetics while offering a cozy comfort.
The bathroom plays with materials
This year, in the bathroom, we are keeping the bathroom furniture simple. To design a cozy and elegant space, we put everything on the coverings. Wood, stone or ceramic: we don’t hesitate to combine different materials.
For a mineral and soft atmosphere at the same time, we adopt terrazzo, which we associate with trendy colors: nude, terracotta or ecru.
Whether natural stone or waxed concrete, large tile slabs are definitely establishing themselves as the trendy flooring of the year.
This year, tiling is definitely making its comeback. However, we forget the total look, and we make sure to compose a harmonious association by varying the formats and finishes. Depending on your decorative desires, you can fall for a unique color or create a graphic or colorful palette.
For a precious and sophisticated touch, we dare a touch of metal – preferably gold.
Timeless, and yet so trendy: wood never ceases to seduce in the bathroom. For a very trendy Japandi aesthetic, it is adopted almost from floor to ceiling, even if it means opting for a beautiful imitation of porcelain stoneware.
The cocoon-style bathroom
To enjoy a cocooning bathroom, we draw from the most trendy colors in 2022. The one that is already unanimous is undoubtedly blue.
Horizon blue at Dulux Valentine, Restore at Graham & Brown: the two famous editors have both chosen a smoky blue as the color of the year. And this peaceful, airy and slightly muted shade works wonderfully in the bathroom.
The more intense blue remains ultra trendy in the bathroom. For a 100% trendy decoration, it is then associated either with a pure white, for a very contemporary aesthetic, or with a wallpaper, for a decoration with a more assertive character.
Fan of a graphic palette? Beware of the choice of black and white: this year, we are betting on a lighter contrast. So choose shades of cream and ecru, associated with black or its ever-trendy alternative: charcoal gray.
If green, terracotta or even nude are very trendy, it is definitely the earthy browns that are essential this year, including in the bathroom.
A well-equipped bathroom
In terms of furniture, we have seen: this year, the trend is towards extreme simplicity.
Under the vanity unit, towels and toiletries are exposed without complex. A bias which is a little demanding: it is a question of showing a little order and organization! But it also makes the space more lively and more user-friendly.
Since the furniture is few in number and compact, we favor well-thought-out rooms, which offer ultra-functional storage.
In terms of finish, wood remains a safe bet this year, in particular dark woods, oak or walnut effect.
