The rapper Gzuz has been sentenced to more than eight months in prison by a court in Hamburg. The frontman of the band 187 Strassenbande was found guilty of assault, among other things.

In an appeal process, the Hamburg Regional Court sentenced the rapper Gzuz to eight months and two weeks in prison. At the same time, the criminal court imposed a fine of 180 daily rates of 2,300 euros each, i.e. a total of 414,000 euros. The court found the 33-year-old frontman of the band 187 Strassenbande guilty of assault, a violation of the Explosives Act and two violations of the Weapons Act.

Gzuz already sentenced in 2020

The Chamber punished the slap in the face of a young woman who had asked the rapper for a selfie on the Reeperbahn in the morning. For that alone he was sentenced to eight months in prison. With the verdict, which is not yet final, the chamber fell only slightly short of the demand of the public prosecutor, who had pleaded for ten months’ imprisonment and 225 daily rates of 2,000 euros each – a total of 450,000 euros. The musician’s defense lawyers had spoken out in favor of a maximum of 80 daily rates of 350 euros each.

In September 2020, the district court in Hamburg sentenced Gzuz to 18 months in prison for violations of the weapons law, drug possession, attempted theft and bodily harm. In addition, he should pay a fine of 300 daily rates of 1700 euros each – i.e. a total of 510,000 euros. On the other hand, the musician, whose real name is Kristoffer Jonas Klauß, appealed.
