18 departments placed in orange vigilance from the Grand-Est to the Massif Central

Moselle, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Vosges, Haute-Marne, Haute-Saône, Doubs, Jura, Côte-d’Or, Saône-et -Loire, Ain, Rhône, Loire, Haute-Loire, Puy-de-Dôme and Cantal are affected by this alert.

From the start of the day, from Brittany to the Pays de Loire to Normandy and as far as Hauts-de-France, the weather will be disrupted. Under a very heavy sky, frequent locally stormy rains will circulate until the evening. A southerly wind will strengthen significantly, from midday to reach 80 to 90 km / h in gusts, sometimes 90 to 100 km / h on the coast.

Heat and thunderstorms

At the same time, from Roussillon to the south of PACA, low clouds carried by the sea wind will set in. On the Languedoc, the maritime entries will be more compact and will bring initially weak rains. Over the hours on the relief of the Massif Central, these rains will become more continuous, sometimes even stormy on the Cévennes.

On the Pyrenees chain, from the morning the south wind will blow hard on the ridges, the rains will increase. In the mid-mountain valleys, gusts of wind can break and reach 90 to 110 km / h.

On the rest of the country, despite a well veiled sky, the morning will be dry. But on the southern half, and more particularly the Aquitaine coast, as well as on the Massif Central and the Rhone Valley, the southerly wind will strengthen significantly, reaching 80 to 90 km / h. In the afternoon, the clouds will thicken further, especially from the Massif Central to the Alps and the North-East, with thundery showers and strong gusts of wind.

The minimum temperatures will vary between 10 and 15 degrees in the northern half, from 14 to 19 in the south, the maximum between 16 and 21 degrees from Brittany to Nord-Pas-de-Calais, from 20 to 25 degrees in the rest of the region. northern half, from 23 to 28 in the south, locally 30 to 32 over southern Corsica.
