For several years it has been common for Epic Games to hold a winter sale and to offer a lot of games for free as part of this. And not on a weekly basis, as is usually the case throughout the year, but in a 24-hour rhythm. It looked like there would be a change for 2023, but that didn’t come true.
Bargain hunters can rejoice
The starting point for concerns about Epic Games saying goodbye to 15 or more free games before and after Christmas was the fact that only a single “mystery” game was announced last week. Dataminers found out, that this game, which ultimately turned out to be Destiny 2: Legacy Collection, will be offered for a whole week. The obvious conclusion was that Epic Games was breaking with the tradition of 24-hour free games – after all, you’re burning a lot of money with the free titles. But the fears have not come true, which should please bargain hunters.
A possible explanation for the unusual behavior is that the Winter Sale 2023 This time it will last a week longer than, for example, 2022. In total, you have the opportunity to buy Epic’s offers for four weeks – including an Epic voucher for 33 percent, which you can get for your next purchase almost endlessly from a purchase of 15 euros. Epic Games therefore has to extend its free offers over a significantly longer period of time. There are a total of 17 free titles for bargain hunters. The roadmap for this looks like this:

• Game 2-16: 12/20/23 to 01/03/24 each for 24 hours (5 p.m.)

Traditionally, the 24-hour free games leak at some point in advance.
