Leverkusen doesn’t stop winning – FC Bayern keeps going

Bayer Leverkusen is the first to say goodbye to the winter break. Bayern remain close to the undefeated league leaders. Stuttgart and Frankfurt also win. On the other hand, there is frustration in Cologne.
Bayer Leverkusen continues to storm towards the championship But FC Bayern is sticking with the Rhinelanders.
The still undefeated Leverkusen team said goodbye to the winter break with a confident 4:0 (3:0) against VfL Bochum, the Munich team prevailed with 2:1 (2:1) at VfL Wolfsburg. VfB Stuttgart also remains on course for the Champions League after beating FC Augsburg 3-0 (2-0) and moved up to third place.
Eintracht Frankfurt celebrated two goals in stoppage time and won 2-1 (0-1) against Borussia Mönchengladbach. SC Freiburg, on the other hand, lost late with 2:3 (1:0) at 1. FC Heidenheim. In addition, the sporting crisis at 1. FC Köln and the coach Steffen Baumgart is coming to a head after the 0:2 (0:0) at 1. FC Union Berlin.
Schick scores a hat-trick
The first-placed Leverkusen are far from that. Coach Xabi Alonso was even able to rest goalscorer Victor Boniface against Bochum. Instead, Patrik Schick stormed from the start – and how. The Czech (30th minute/foul penalty/35th/45th+1) practically single-handedly led Bayer to victory with a hat-trick. Later, Boniface came on as a substitute and scored himself (69′).
But Munich remains four points behind and one game less from the league leaders. Jamal Musiala (33rd) and Harry Kane (43rd) scored for coach Thomas Tuchel’s team. Maximilian Arnold (45th + 1) scored the next goal for Lower Saxony.
VfB goes into the winter break in third place in the table thanks to their confident win against Augsburg. In the last game of the year, Serhou Guirassy and Deniz Undav were once again the main players for the Swabians. First Undav (18th) scored himself, then he set up for Guirassy (45th + 1). Later Chris Führich (69th) made it 3-0. The Stuttgart team moved past RB Leipzig in the table and moved up to third place.
Eintracht is far from that. Maximilian Wöber (27th) scored for Gladbach, but Aurelio Buta (90th+2) and Robin Koch (90th+7) turned the game in favor of the hosts. The fans in Heidenheim also cheered very late, where Matthias Ginter (90th + 2) scored an own goal to win for FCH. Lucas Höler (7th/64th) had previously scored twice for Breisgauer. Eren Dinkci (52nd) and Tim Kleindienst (84th) scored the other goals for Heidenheim.
Cologne loses in the basement duel
The sporting crisis at 1. FC Köln is coming to a head. In the basement duel at 1. FC Union Berlin, the Köpenick team prevailed 2-0 (0-0) and thus increased the pressure on Cologne coach Steffen Baumgart. Benedict Hollerbach (56th) and David Fofana (78th) scored the goals for the hosts at the Alte Försterei on Wednesday evening, who were able to move three points clear of FC. Cologne, on the other hand, is going into the winter break in second-to-last place in the Bundesliga.
