“Either you jump or I kill you, if you don’t jump, I kill mom.” It is a family drama that played out on Wednesday evening in the Louis-Blériot residence in Villejuif (Val-de-Marne). Armed with a knife, a 14-year-old forced his father to jump from the fourth floor, threatening to kill his mother if he didn’t, a police source told 20 minutes, confirming information from Parisian.
The high school student, who surrendered himself to the police who arrived on the spot, is still in custody at the Kremlin-Bicêtre police station this Friday, the Créteil prosecutor’s office told AFP. 20 minutes.
The fall of the father cushioned by branches
It is a little after 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening when the father of the family asks the teenager to leave his room to come and sit down to eat. That evening, the family must share a meal to celebrate the big sister’s birthday. The latter, aged 23, has just gone shopping for the family dinner. A violent argument then broke out between the father and his son. The cries fuse. Out of him, the teenager grabs a kitchen knife, “cleaver type”, and threatens his two parents. He begins by kicking the table and the chairs, before aiming the weapon directly at the 49-year-old man. “Either you jump, or I kill you, if you don’t jump, I kill mom,” he tells her. Cornered, the father of the family would have jumped himself from the fourth floor, from the marital bedroom. For her part, the mother of the family manages to flee and goes down to the hall of the building.
At the same time, the firefighters arrived on the scene, alerted by neighbors who heard screams. The fall of the father of the family is cushioned by branches, and he only suffers minor injuries. The man, whose vital prognosis is not engaged, is transported to the Kremlin-Bicêtre University Hospital. The firefighters, who managed to recover the number of the teenager, exchanged with him by telephone to convince him to go to the arrival of the police. A few minutes later, it’s done: the high school student descends by himself into the hall of the building. Arrested in the process, the young man, who immediately admitted the facts, was taken into custody at the Kremlin-Bicêtre police station.
A suicide attempt in 2021
According to the first elements of the investigation, the teenager, who suffers from depression, would be followed psychologically for obsessive behavioral disorders. According to one of the residents of the neighborhood, the teenager has been suffering for several years due to a violent family climate: “He is an adorable kid, but destroyed by a destructive family with a very violent father”, a- she confided, claiming that the teenager was hospitalized last year after a suicide attempt. “I’ve seen him shrink over the years. It’s not the monster we’re talking about at all. He took action, it’s horrible, but he probably had his reasons, ”she added.
An investigation was opened by the Créteil prosecutor’s office and entrusted to the Kremlin-Bicêtre police station to try to understand the motivations of the high school student. The investigations should also make it possible to determine whether the psychological discernment of the adolescent was abolished at the time of the events.
