A historic evening in every way. France was merciless for Gibraltar, the penultimate nation in the Fifa ranking (198th), on Saturday November 18 in Nice, passing it a historic 14-0, the largest victory in its history. She secured a place among the top five in qualifying for Euro 2024, synonymous with top seed for the competition.
The Blues, who were already qualified before the match, won thanks in particular to a hat-trick from Kylian Mbappé and doubles from Kingsley Coman and Olivier Giroud. At 17, Warren Zaire-Emery became the youngest player to play with the French team since 1914. After scoring and causing a red card, he left with an injury, hit in the right ankle, after 15 minutes of play.
