12 Scandinavian armchairs to absolutely adopt

What does the 2023 version of the Scandinavian living room look like?

It was said to be timeless and capable of resisting trends, and yet: this year, the Scandinavian style would begin – they say! – to run out of steam. In reality, the Nordic living room remains very trendy. On the other hand, he is getting a makeover.

On the design side, we start by forgetting the conical legs emblematic of the vintage Scandinavian style. In the case of the armchair, we fall for the lounge model with minimalist lines or for an organic design, all in roundness. If wood remains essential, we now dare dark species. We also like metal, which allows more airy structures. To keep the cozy spirit specific to the Nordic living room, it is preferably associated with cozy materials.

Soft textiles are always essential, and the loop remains one of the flagship materials of the Nordic chair. We also melt for linen, in a natural or dyed version, or quite simply for cotton.

The Scandinavian Living Room Takes Colors

As for colors, pastels are definitely has-beens. We prefer deep colors such as brown red and sophisticated shades such as khaki or cognac. To wake up a very sober decoration, we even allow ourselves a sunny yellow or a vibrant electric blue. Neutrals are also evolving: white, beige and brown are at the top of the bill. As for grey, there are no half measures: we adopt it in very light pearl gray or very dark anthracite grey.

The organic Scandinavian armchair

The organic armchair is not really new to the Scandinavian living room. But in the space of a few seasons, it seems to have become essential.
