After the boredom over the Great Belt, cycling fans and cyclists alike are hoping for more action on the third stage of the Tour de France.

The Denmark guest appearance of the Tour de France ends today in the sailor’s paradise of Sønderborg. On the 182 kilometers starting in Vejle, only four small hills have to be mastered. Maybe the wind plays a role.

The Sprinters:

According to the plans of the organizers, the section offers one of the few chances for a real mass sprint. Fabio Jakobsen should be the favorite after his impressive performance on Saturday. Other sprint stars like Australia’s Caleb Ewan, Netherlands’ Dylan Groenewegen and Belgium’s Jasper Philipsen are already under pressure to deliver a result.

The wind:

After the great wind chaos did not materialize on the second stage, confusing situations could arise a day later. According to the forecast, there will be frequent side winds over the last 40 kilometers and with it the chance that the field will tear apart. The contenders for the overall victory must not afford any lack of concentration.

The folk festival:

In the finale of their three-day tour party, the Danes will once again make a pilgrimage to the route in large numbers. Overall, the Grand Départ cost 24 million euros – at least according to the calculations of the newspaper “Politik”. The Danish public is not informed of the true costs, which is causing debate in the country. The government invokes secrecy clauses.
