Unknown people stole a 100-year-old statue of Mary from a church in the Upper Palatinate. As the police announced on Tuesday, the 75-centimetre wooden statue from the Church of St. Wenzeslaus in Schönsee (Schwandorf district) was probably torn from the attachment to the wall. The hand-carved statue of Mary is therefore worth around 5000 euros. The exact time of the crime is still unclear. Now the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office is investigating and is asking for witnesses.
