PARIS 2024 Olympic Games – With just over three and a half months until the Olympic Games, there is still a small chance of obtaining tickets to attend the most popular events. The day after the lighting of the flame from Olympia in Greece, a new sale of tickets is organized this Wednesday, April 17 from 10 a.m.

A date which was not chosen at random since it marks 100 days before the opening ceremony of the Games, which will be held on July 26, normally on the Seine.

The Lebrun brothers, Simone Biles, Léon Marchand…

As Tony Estanguet explained, 250,000 tickets will be offered for sale on the usual platform, spread across all the sports on the Olympic program. And they will largely concern events for which all the tickets had already been purchased: 10,000 tickets for artistic gymnastics events will, for example, be released, 35,000 for beach volleyball, 12,000 for table tennis, etc.

Faithful to the rhetoric used by the organizers on the accessibility of these Parisian Games, the boss of Cojo insisted on the fact that half of these tickets would be offered for less than a hundred euros, and that only 5% would be for more than 400. A way of responding to the criticisms which regularly target the Paris Olympics, accused of being only accessible for the richest purses.

For example, it will be possible to acquire places for the men’s pole vault final, during which world record holder Armand Duplantis should attempt to retain his Tokyo title, for 85 euros. It will also be possible to get one of the 12,000 new tickets on sale for tennis at Roland-Garros for between 24 and 420 euros, or to invite yourself to the heavyweight judo final and perhaps see Teddy Riner triumphs once again for the modest sum of… 275 euros minimum.

Logically citing competitions including the brothers Félix and Alexis Lebrun, Simone Biles, Léon Marchand or Novak Djokovic among those which will see new tickets put on sale, Tony Estanguet also mentioned the French football teams.

A resale platform will soon open

Thus, it will be possible to obtain a ticket from 30 euros to see Hervé Renard’s Bleues face the Canadians, the reigning Olympic champions, on July 28 in Saint-Étienne. And for boys, tickets starting at 30 euros will also be offered for the various group matches of the team led by Thierry Henry in Marseille and Nice.

In total, nearly eight million tickets for the Olympic events have been sold since the opening of the ticket office, of which 63% were purchased by the French public, the face of the organization also communicated. On the other hand, if some sports such as paratriathlon, para-shooting or wheelchair fencing are already sold outonly 900,000 tickets have been sold for the Paralympic events, which will take place from August 28 to September 8.

Note that if Tony Estanguet has not yet confirmed the exact date, the Cojo only speaking of the “ second half of May », an official ticket resale platform should open soon. A means for buyers, who have often been forced to acquire places for several events, to transmit their precious tickets at a constant price and in a secure manner.
