22 players, two goals, one ball – the particular fascination of football lies in the simplicity of the game. According to surveys, around every second person in Germany is interested in football, it is the sport that attracts the most attention – and it is big business. And now it starts again: The first round of the DFB Cup will be played this weekend. In a few days, the first Bundesliga will also start its 59th season. The fans are looking forward to the start of the league. Everywhere there will be fans in the stadiums again, if the infection rate allows it. If it is up to those responsible, football should now largely return to normal after the last two seasons, which were very much shaped by the corona pandemic.
