The drama took place on the night of Saturday to Sunday near the Richardménil roundabout, in Meurthe-et-Moselle. A vehicle left the road before ending its journey in the nearby canal. Of the five passengers on board, four were then able to get out but a 21-year-old woman drowned, reports

The gendarmes opened an investigation in order to understand the circumstances of the accident. According to Eastern Republican, the car would have pulled straight into the roundabout before crossing a row of shrubs and therefore diving.
