The US rapper Young Dolph was shot dead in Memphis on Wednesday, according to US media reports. The investigation is ongoing.

The US rapper Young Dolph is said to have been shot dead in Memphis on Wednesday afternoon (November 17). That reports the US broadcaster Fox 13. Accordingly, the 36-year-old musician is said to have been hit in the street by the shot from a passing car while he was just leaving a shop. The local police in Memphis confirmed on Twitterthat “a male victim was found and pronounced dead” after a shootout but has not yet been officially identified. The investigation is ongoing.

As the US celebrity portal “TMZ” writes, wouldn’t it be the first time Young Dolph has been shot. In 2017, he was injured so badly in a shootout that he had to be operated on. According to the rapper, jealousy and hatred were the perpetrators’ motives at the time.

Young Dolph’s career

Young Dolph was born Adolph Thornton Jr. in Chicago in 1985. At the age of two he moved with his two brothers to live with his grandmother in Memphis, where he also grew up. In 2009 he released his first mixtapes in the Dirty South style, a subgenre of hip hop.
