Nordahl Lelandais is tried until May 12 before the Assizes of Savoy for the murder of Corporal Arthur Noyer. – Mr. Williams / AFP

  • Nordahl Lelandais, suspected of the murder of little Maëlys, is currently being tried before the Assize Court of Savoy for that of Corporal Arthur Noyer.
  • On the third day of the hearing, Alexandra’s testimony almost made him waver.
  • This former friend of the accused, who refutes the accidental death thesis, told her to tell the truth.

At the Assize Court of Savoy

It took until 5 p.m. on Wednesday for Nordahl Lelandais to falter. Without however falling. Nor surrender. Tried before the Assize Court of Savoy for the murder of Corporal Arthur Noyer, the accused found himself cornered by one of the former friends, Alexandra.

“Alex” even has a “very good memory”. This ability greatly weakened the line of defense presented by the accused, for whom she felt attraction. Yes, she was not “insensitive” to the charm of the former military at one time. She found him “considerate, sympathetic”: “It’s awful to say, but he was a great guy.” With a few shortcomings, she emphasizes. This need to “put himself forward”, the jealousy he could feel “if other men were shadowing him”. But that’s not what made him change his mind. It’s an evening, that of the night of April 12 to 13, 2017.

24 hours after the murder, “it was business as usual”

The day before, Nordahl Lelandais killed Arthur Noyer. An “accident” caused at the end of a fight against a background of drunkenness, according to him. Alexandra does not suspect anything and proposes to her friend to join her at the end of a company evening. “We met a little later in another establishment,” says the 44-year-old witness. We had a great time. “

“He was business as usual,” she is still surprised. There was no sign that could indicate what had happened. No signs of blows to the face either. Nor a lip torn by Arthur Noyer’s fists. “If I had accidentally killed someone, as he says, I’m sure I wouldn’t have been able to go to a party the next day,” she says. You don’t move on when you’ve taken a person’s life. “

“You owe them the truth”

The witness swallows back her tears to address her friend directly: “It’s quite complicated to see the harm you have done. You owe them the truth. Standing Lelandais, hands crossed, struggles to speak but seeks his eyes. “It is not me that should be looked at,” she challenges him. “The truth, I will give it,” he blurted out in a pained voice. But I don’t know what to say. “So tell them what happened,” she urges him forcefully. You know it deep inside you. Your friends know that. It was not an accident, it is impossible ”.

Touched, Lelandais seems banned. Even shaken. But he doesn’t deliver anything. The friend tries again: “You know, we would have helped you.” Not to conceal the truth but to assume it. “Faced with Alexandra, Lelandais then wallows in silence. In a final salvo, “Alex” strikes him the final blow: “You needed light, you needed to shine. You chose a funny way to do it ”…

Nordahl Lelandais is to be heard on the facts Thursday. The verdict is expected on May 12.
