It is time to renounce a sympathy for activists such as the women and men of the so-called last generation, which is also vigorously defended here against their critics. Under the name “Last Generation”, climate activists made a name for themselves almost every week with extreme sit-ins. They sat down on freeways, blocked the main traffic arteries of large cities with their hands glued to the pavement, and in doing so solicited attention to their concerns, which, and these people are right, are our concerns: an end to the blasphemous mass destruction of food, a decisive turnaround in climate policy, a speed limit and a reduction in CO₂ emissions.
