WisdomTree Reports Q4 Loss as Crypto Holdings Fall in Value

WisdomTree, a New York-based asset manager that operates a blockchain fund, reported that the value of its holdings The cryptocurrency dropped to $136 million at the end of Q4, down from $357 million at the end of the same quarter last year.

The company posted a net loss of $28.3 million in the period, compared to a profit of $11.2 million in the same period last year. Operating income fell to $73.3 million, compared to $79.2 million in the previous fourth quarter.

WisdomTree has a net inflow of $5.3 billion. “Which was driven by inflows in bonds, US equities, and commodities,” while net flows, especially from crypto, totaled $4 million.

“Driven by a net inflow of over $12 billion in 2022, WisdomTree ended the year with a record number of assets under management,” said COO and President Jarett Lilien.
