Winter vacation in Switzerland: The 10 most beautiful ski areas in the Engadin

Skiing holidays with snow guarantee: Thanks to its high altitude surrounded by peaks and idyllic mountain villages, the Engadin in the Swiss canton of Graubünden offers the perfect conditions for a snowy winter holiday. The entire region has more than 350 kilometers of pistes, divided into nine ski areas with a total of 88 pistes.

The Corviglia ski area with the winter sports mecca of St. Moritz is particularly well known internationally. There are not only numerous varied pistes for professionals and beginners, but also historic descents. In addition to the Winter Olympics in 1928 and 1948, five World Ski Championships were also held there.

Ski holidays in the Engadin: winter sports enthusiasts have the choice

But the other ski areas in the Swiss Engadin are in no way inferior to their famous neighbours. Winter vacationers have the choice of whether they prefer to visit one of the large ski areas such as Corvatsch, Corviglia, Diavolezza/Lagalb or Pizzen/Zuoz, or prefer to take it easy in one of the five smaller ski areas.

The smaller slopes are particularly suitable for families, as there are often ski schools there that have offers specially tailored to the needs of young winter sports enthusiasts. In addition, fun on the slopes is a lot cheaper there than on the large slopes of the Engadin.

Winter sports enthusiasts who are looking for a special skiing adventure should still drop by there. In the Engadin you will find one of the longest summit descents in Switzerland and many freestyle offers. In the picture gallery we tell you which ski areas in the Engadin are particularly worthwhile.
