Since October 1st, it has been permitted again to cut back hedges, bushes, deciduous or coniferous trees or to remove them completely. The Paragraph 39 in the Federal Nature Conservation Act bans such radical cuts between March 1st and September 30th. This is intended to protect breeding birds and their nests.
Important: So-called shape and care cuts are permitted all year round. But of course you should also pay attention to any nests that may be present and protect them. And: never mix when it is frosty! Branches could break and the structure of the bush or tree could be damaged.
