The Qatari club Al-Sadd does not want to give their head coach Xavi clearance for an immediate move to their club, FC Barcelona.

“The club’s position was clear from the start: we are determined to keep our coach Xavi with us and we cannot allow him to leave at this crucial point in the season,” said Al-Sadd managing director Turki Al-Ali Quoted on the club’s Twitter account. Al-Ali also confirmed that a delegation from FC Barcelona had traveled to the Persian Gulf for negotiations: “We appreciate and respect the visit.”

According to matching media reports, Xavi should already be in agreement with the Blaugrana on the terms of the contract.
