Providers on the topic
With the USG Lite 60AX, Zyxel Networks is launching a Wi-Fi 6 firewall router for SMEs, home offices and managed service providers (MSPs). The device offers integrated protection against common threats. The housing is made of 95 percent recycled plastic.
The USG Lite 60AX works with a 2.0 GHz quad-core 64-bit CPU and has a WAN and LAN port for up to 2.5 Gbit/s. Equipped with Wi-Fi 6, the device offers WLAN transmission rates of up to 6 Gbit/s with support for 160 MHz channels. Thanks to Zyxel’s Smart Mesh technology, users can seamlessly connect the USG Lite 60AX to Nebula-compatible access points to expand WLAN coverage while avoiding complex cabling.
Security without a subscription
The USG Lite 60AX can detect and block common threats such as ransomware and malware – with no additional subscription costs. Network administrators can also configure VPNs, monitor applications, implement VLANs and gain insight into threats via a graphical security dashboard on Zyxel’s Nebula cloud platform. The device delivers a throughput of up to 2 GBit/s, according to the manufacturer, even when advanced threat and application management features are enabled.
Environmentally friendly design
According to Zyxel, the USG Lite 60AX is made of 95 percent recycled plastic, and the manufacturer has also reduced packaging volume by 36.7 percent, eliminated colored outer packaging, and switched to 100 percent halogen-free or soy-based inks for packaging printing. As a result of these measures, the volume of products has been reduced, the number of units per pallet has increased by 47.7 percent, and the carbon footprint has been reduced.
Management in the cloud
The USG Lite 60AX joins a range of more than 100 Zyxel devices that can be centrally configured and managed via the Nebula cloud management platform. Nebula offers time-saving features and uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to continuously improve the protection of all connected devices, keep networks secure and simplify troubleshooting. According to Zyxel, recent updates include cloud stacking support for XGS2220 switches, smoother configuration transitions and a new bulk site creation feature for MSPs.
