“Who wants to be a millionaire” candidate Petra Lehner and presenter Günther Jauch entertained the audience on Monday evening with a bar story together. However, the teacher missed the opportunity to get revenge for the bill from back then.

High school teacher Petra Lehner sat on Monday evening at “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” in the candidate’s chair. While she was brooding over the 16,000 euro question, Günther Jauch suddenly explained that the two had met before – 17 years ago on the sidelines of the Four Hills Tournament in Bischofshofen. “An unforgettable evening?” asks Jauch, who himself has no memory of the meeting. “I forgive you for that,” replies the candidate, who then has to tell the story.

At that time she had a holiday job for a mobile phone company at the Four Hills Tournament, the transmissions of which Jauch moderated. On the last evening they sat with their group in the restaurant eating. “Then the RTL squad came and was put in everywhere. And I got you,” Lehner recalls. “It was surprisingly short with you and very long.” We sat together in the restaurant until 5 a.m.

“And the next day I had ski jumping?”

Jauch’s eyes widen. “What, until 5 o’clock? And the next day I had ski jumping?” “You didn’t jump,” countered the candidate with a smile.

And then reveals that Jauch took over her bill at the time. That was a bit embarrassing for her, because it turned out that she had eaten two main courses at the same time, venison ragout and roast pork. But Jauch only replied that she didn’t have to worry about her wallet. “I must have jumped ahead a bit,” laughs Jauch as he tells the story.

In any case, if she wins millions, she will return the favour, and Jauch will also pay for two main courses, says candidate Lehner. But this does not occur. At the next question (“What are gravel spies?”) she gets out and takes 32,000 euros home with her. The correct answer would have been: gravel spies explore rally routes.
