“Where’s Wanda?”
Heike Makatsch goes on a search in October
Apple TV+ will soon release its first German-language series, “Where’s Wanda?”, starring Heike Makatsch and Axel Stein.
Where is her daughter Wanda? This is the question Heike Makatsch (52) and Axel Stein (42) in a new, eight-part series. “Where’s Wanda?”, a production by UFA Fiction, is the first German-language series from the streaming service Apple TV+. According to a press release, it starts on October 2nd – with the first two episodes. The remaining episodes are scheduled to appear every Wednesday.
German stars spy in the suburbs
“Where’s Wanda?” is a black comedy. Months ago, young Wanda (Lea Drinda, 23) disappeared without a trace. Dedo and Carlotta Klatt (Stein and Makatsch) set out to find their daughter because the police are making no progress. The two take matters into their own hands and, thanks to their son Ole (Leo Simon), are able to obtain surveillance devices. First the neighborhood is bugged, then half the suburb.
In addition to Makatsch and Stein, many other well-known faces can be seen in the series. There are also appearances by multi-talented Nikeata Thompson (43), presenter and actress Palina Rojinski (39), her colleague Kostja Ullmann (40) and the up-and-coming young actress Harriet Herbig-Matten (20), who is on the rise thanks to the Prime Video series “Maxton Hall – The World Between Us”. Devid Striesow (50), Joachim Król (67) and Jasmin Shakeri also take on roles.
“Where’s Wanda?” was directed by Christian Ditter and Tobi Baumann. The former is known for the US comedy “How to Be Single” and the Netflix series “Biohackers”, the latter for the miniseries “Faking Hitler”, the sitcom “Pastewka” and the comedy “Der WiXXer”.
