Mistyped, missed, changed your mind? There is now a double bottom for the WhatsApp messenger service. Users should now be able to edit messages up to 15 minutes after they were sent.

The messenger service WhatsApp has rolled out a new function. From now on, users can edit messages that have already been sent, like the Meta subsidiary in tells his blog.

Changes can be made up to 15 minutes after sending. To do this, users must press and hold the sent message until the context menu appears. The “Edit” function can then be selected there.

The recipient sees the “Edited” notice, but can’t track what was edited unless the person saw the message immediately.

Meta is also asked to stop the data transfer to the USA.

Correction feature to be available worldwide

“Like all personal messages, media and calls, your messages, including the changes you make, are end-to-end encrypted,” writes WhatsApp. The innovation will be introduced worldwide and will be available to all users in the coming weeks.

Since last year, Apple has been able to edit or withdraw messages to other iPhone users, i.e. iMessages. However, the recipients can track the changes.
