ela. Whatsapp is now introducing an innovation that many have been waiting for: messages can be edited up to 15 minutes after they have been sent, for example to correct typos. Previously, a message could only be deleted as a whole.

Subsequent editing works by tapping and holding the message and then selecting “Edit” from the menu, like Whatsapp in one blog post explained. Changed messages are displayed as «edited». In this way, the recipients know that a correction has taken place, but do not know the history of the change, as the saying goes.

The feature will be rolled out globally and will be available to all users in the coming weeks.

Messages can be edited later.
