A month ago, the board of directors of the Zurich Schauspielhaus announced that the contract between the two directors, Nicolas Stemann and Benjamin von Blomberg, would not be extended beyond a period of five years and would expire in a year and a half. Now the theater responded in the way it can best respond: with a production by in-house director Christopher Rüping. His adaptation of Sarah Kane’s “Greed” is one of the most fascinating things the theater has seen in a long time.
