Since Friday morning, businesses and administrations have been experiencing major IT difficulties linked to a service outage by the American multinational.

Microsoft reported a service outage Friday affecting anti-virus software from the company Crowdstrike, affecting businesses and users worldwide. “We are investigating an issue affecting users’ ability to access various Microsoft 365 applications and services.”the American multinational said in a statement published Friday morning, specifying that it was taking “mitigation measures”. “Our services are being improved as we continue to take mitigation measures”the company wrote on the social network X (ex-Twitter).
Airports in Sydney, Berlin and Madrid, airlines such as Air France, Delta Airlines, American Airlines and United, and the largest British rail operator Govia Thameslink Railway announced on Friday that their services were being severely disrupted.
In the United States, the 911 emergency number was inaccessible. In France, journalists from RTL, TF1 and CNEWS reported major technical problems disrupting the broadcast. In Australia, the Commonwealth Bank, NAB, ANZ, Bendigo Bank and Suncorp announced that they were affected by the outage, which prevented money transfers from being made. Large supermarkets such as Woolworths were also affected, with some self-service checkouts being out of service.
The outage would mainly affect the business world and not individuals. Microsoft adds that it remains “mobilized to manage this event with the highest priority and urgency, while continuing to address the ongoing impact to the remaining Microsoft 365 applications that are in a degraded state”.
