After a year in the second division, SV Werder Bremen is back in the Bundesliga. The HSV has reached the relegation, the SV Darmstadt 98 will play in the coming season in the second division.

Werder Bremen follows FC Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga. The Green-Whites won their last game of the season against Jahn Regensburg 2-0 (1-0) on Sunday afternoon and ended the season in second place in the table. The return to the upper house after a year in the second division is perfect. The sold-out Weser Stadium erupted in jubilation after the final whistle, the fans stormed the pitch and started their promotion party.

The HSV has reached the relegation in the fourth attempt. Hamburg won 3-2 (0-1) at Hansa Rostock and overtook Darmstadt due to the better goal difference. The club reached third place in the table. Competitor SV Darmstadt 98 won their home game against SC Paderborn 3-0 (3-0) and took fourth place in the final table. Second division champions Schalke 04 won 2-1 (1-0) at 1.
