Hail, lightning, thunder, rain, strong winds, high waves and snow in the mountains – these are the forecasts for Mallorca.
So much for sun and beach – winter has also arrived on the sunny island of Mallorca. Not only in the mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana on the Germans’ favorite holiday island is there frost and snow, but it has even snowed in the island’s capital, Palma. There, at sea level, the snow didn’t stay long. In the mountains, however, the white splendor could be admired and snowmen were even spotted here and there.
Uncomfortable, wet and cold winter weather was also expected for the next few days, with snow in the mountains above 800 meters – in places also hail, lightning and thunder, otherwise rain and strong winds with high waves, especially on the north-west coast, as the “Mallorca Zeitung” reported .
