Hot, hotter, Brazil: plenty of sun in the “wonderful city” of Rio de Janeiro. The famous beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema are jam-packed.

After the summer started rainy, the heat has arrived in Rio de Janeiro. For several days in a row, the perceived temperature, which differs from the actual due to humidity or wind, was now around 50 degrees in the Brazilian metropolis. The thermometer showed more like 30 degrees yesterday.

Many residents of Rio, the “wonderful city”, have summer holidays in the southern hemisphere, and Friday is also a holiday in honor of Saint Sebastian. The famous beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema are crowded even during the week. The beach visitors lounge in chairs or take a sea bath, some even kick a ball as spectacularly as possible.

Even after the sunset, clapping its rock at the Arpoador, the beaches remain crowded.
