Powerful typhoon threatens parts of Japan and South Korea

Something is brewing off the coast of Japan and South Korea: Typhoon “Hinnamnor” could make landfall in the next few days and bring extreme rain and storm surges.
The violent typhoon “Hinnamnor” threatened parts of Japan and its neighbor South Korea with strong gusts of wind and rain. The Japanese weather agency called on the islanders of the southernmost Okinawa Prefecture to be careful of possible landslides caused by rain and storm surges.
Colleagues in neighboring South Korea warned that “Hinnamnor” could make landfall there near the southern city of Busan next Tuesday. The typhoon with wind speeds of more than 200 kilometers per hour was on Saturday in front of the Japanese Sakishima Islands near the main island of the holiday paradise of Okinawa.
The hurricane continued to move slowly in a northerly direction. At the beginning of next week it is likely to move on to the East China Sea and approach Japan’s southwestern main island of Kyushu.
