At the age of ten, the boy became interested in computers. On his Commodore VIC 20, he immersed himself in the world of code and began to write his first own programs. His early biography sounds a bit like the cliché of the cinderellar rise of a computer nerd: Teased, bullied and beaten up at school, he turned to machines and technology – and at the end of the day showed it to the whole world. At the age of twelve, he sold his first self-developed computer game for $ 500. Today, almost 40 years later, he shoots tourists into space for a fee, builds electric cars, dreams of trips to Mars and, above all, is one of the richest people in the world. Of course, this is about Elon Musk, whose net worth was estimated to be a fabulous – or obscene – $ 185 billion at the beginning of 2021. But are individuals allowed to accumulate such wealth, while the vast majority of people have to get by with much, much less or even lead a life of poverty? Shouldn’t the super-rich be asked to pay and wealth be distributed in such a way that there is less inequality?
