The photo of a little girl, presented as a victim of the conflict that has been taking place since May 10 between the Hebrew state and Hamas, has moved many Internet users since Saturday. The girl would be named Malek or Malak and would have lost her life on Friday. The intox was shared in several languages.

FAKE OFF

As the Fake Investigation account pointed out on Twitter, the photo does not show a victim of the conflict, but a Russian girl, whose photo was posted on Instagram on December 24, 2018. Over the weekend, her mother posted new photos of the child in Moscow.

If this girl did not lose her life in Gaza, the toll of the conflict is already very heavy. 197 Palestinians, including at least 58 children, have lost their lives since May 10, according to AFP. On the Israeli side, the conflict has claimed ten victims, including a child.
