According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrainian troops are also gaining ground in the east of the country in their counter-offensive. In his nightly video message, Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian forces managed to liberate some towns in the area of the second largest city, Kharkiv. “This week we have good news from the Kharkiv region,” announced the President.
More than 700 square kilometers reclaimed
Ukrainian Brigadier General Oleksiy Gromov said the armed forces had so far recaptured more than 700 square kilometers of Russian-held territory in the south and east of the country. The Ukrainian troops penetrated up to 50 kilometers deep into enemy territory. More than 20 towns were taken in the Kharkiv region. The mission continues. Russia: “Armed forces brace themselves against offensive”
