Fire brigade, sports club, refugee aid – how can voluntary work remain attractive when our society is changing? A conversation with Doris Rosenkranz, professor at the Nuremberg University of Applied Sciences and expert in voluntary work.
Doris Rosenkranz teaches and researches volunteer work and volunteer management at the Nuremberg Technical University. The professor is the spokesperson for the university cooperation on volunteer work, in which the leading associations of the voluntary welfare sector in Bavaria, such as the Red Cross and Caritas, are involved. Since its founding in 2020, the sociologist has been an expert in the Bavarian Ethics Council, which was convened by the state government of Prime Minister Markus Söder. She has also been advising municipalities and associations on their volunteer strategies for years.
