Fishing nets represent 10% of the world’s waste in the oceans. Their impact on the environment is very negative, since they are made of plastic, and they continue to capture fish, cetaceans and turtles. Faced with this ghost fishing, the Marseille association
Palana has made it his mission to retrieve these nets.
Volunteer professional divers receive reports from fishermen or other divers, and go to retrieve them. Some can weigh up to 500 kg.
